CBT and EMDR therapist in Hamilton and Motherwell

About Me

Hello,

I am Lorna McGraw, a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and EMDR Therapist, an accredited member of the BACP and a member of EMDR UK.

I work using an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other integrative therapeutic approaches. This allows therapy to be tailored to your individual needs, helping you explore thoughts, emotions, and past experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

CBT can help you understand and change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours, while EMDR is a powerful therapy often used to process distressing or traumatic experiences. By integrating these approaches with other therapeutic techniques, I aim to support you in developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and lasting positive change.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to face things alone. I am here to offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can begin your journey towards healing, self-understanding, and personal growth.

My Experience

My experience as a therapist includes working with Neurodivergent clients such as those with ADHD or Autism and I adapt therapy to suit their needs. As well as my private practice, I work for the NHS East London Foundation as a CBT therapist offering online counselling sessions.

One size never fits all. I believe the client is the expert in their life - they know what isn’t working and from there we define the goals and progress towards achieving them. I feel so privileged as a therapist that people put their trust in me.

I only ever want the best for my clients - and I collaborate closely with them to achieve this, whether it's over a handful of sessions or ongoing longer-term work.

Together, we discover new ways to alleviate your struggles and facilitate positive change. I look forward to working with you.
